Bed Bug ControlWe DO NOT recommend the use of insecticide sprays containing "CYPERMETHRIN" against Bed Bugs if you have the option of using the Biting Insect Killer "D-PHENOTHRIN" found in PRO-ACTIVE D " CYPERMETHRIN" is the active ingredient in most online competitor products. D-Phenothrin (in our Pro-Active D) is highly active against biting insects and mite and is currently widely used by professional pest controllers for control of Bed Bugs. The product is a slow acting insecticide and you may wish to use an aerosol such as Rentokil Insectrol Professional or Power Fogger (both available below) to gain rapid knockdown of adult bugs, then use the Pro-Active D for the main control product which will remain active on surfaces for around 3 -4 weeks. Pro-Active D may be slow to act but it is more certain than some other products The Bed Bug is one of the most hated human parasites. The Bed Bug (cimex lectularius) is essentially a nocturnal insect that feeds on human blood. Normally, bed bugs are active prior to dawn and generally found living either on, or close to a bed or human sleeping place. For effective bed bug control, to eradicate a bed bug infestation, you must be concerted and thorough to achieve control. Firstly you must identify areas of infestation. Check all bedrooms, strip down beds where possible and check every crevice, in particular the back of the headboard, the joints where legs and frame sections are attached, the seams and buttons of the mattress, plus skirtings, wallpaper joints and any furniture near the bed. You will find black 'blood spots' near where the bed bugs are hiding and possibly adults and eggs (opaque and pearly white 1mm x 0.5mm).When commencing treatment, strip and launder all bedding, spray the whole mattress lightly with ProActive D using more spray where evidence of activity exists. Dismantle the bed and any affected furniture and spray all. Lightly spray wall and floor surfaces around the bed. Re-treat after 15 days using Pro-Active-D Trigger Spray , then again after 30 days.
