To identify Carpet/Casebearing Moth, which do tend to be in Carpets and Rugs, you are looking for what looks like grains of rice (cases) of the larval stage.
You are likely to find these around the edges and under furniture. They like dark undisturbed places and also prefer areas where the carpet is moist, either by a previous spillage or on an outside wall.If you find these along with threadbare carpet, then a treatment on the carpet is required.
If you can, lift the carpet at egdes and apply the Diatomaceous Earth for a long term preventative measure. If you cannot lift edges, a spray (products above) around edges and under furniture will be adequate, a dusting of the diatomaceous earth is also recommended under furniture once spray is dry.
If you are looking for sticky pheromone traps these are for Clothes Moth only not carpet/case bearing, although there are sticky pheromones hitting the market in September/October 2017 for the case-bearing moth.
