Single Catch Rat Trap

Quick Overview

£15.60 Incl. VAT

Details

  • Humane
  • Easy to set
  • Sensitive setting

Low cost humane cage rat trap. Solid top section to prevent the trapped rat scratching you when you lift the trap. Very sensitive setting ensures if a rat enters the trap it will almost certainly trigger it.

Size: 43cm x 17cm x 17cm.
Trapping rats is a long established method of rat control. Avoids the use of rat poison and produces the rat live which can then be released a couple of miles away. If you use rat poison within a building there is a risk that the rat may die in an inaccessible area and the dead rodent smell is not something to be toyed with!
Dead rats smell horrible for weeks, so for control of rats indoors we suggest vermin traps or rat catcher sticky boards. You can also use electronic pest repellers, which although excellent at ridding mice from properties, sometimes struggle to drive out rats, or an electic rat killer, which electrocutes the rat.

Easy To use but no customers yet. The rats are probably simply normal countryside ones crossing gardens etc

This hasn't caught a rat yet (the rats around here seem to prefer death by little nippers baited either with toffee popcorn or chocolate raisins). I did lend two traps to my sister who had a rogue rabbit that consumed her vegetable patch overnight. The bunny was successfully detained and released... Read More.

The only problem is that one needs very careful adjustment to set the trap since the two wires easily come apart - and this could probably be effected by an animal simply brushing against the trap. Perhaps making one slightly longer and bending it would solve that problem.

Guess I have a very clever rat. Takes the bait and gets out every time so far - despite the gate having closed!! Going to try making it more difficult to get the bait. Perhaps he has a mate who holds the gate open ??!!
