Using a direct kill rat trap can be very effective but rats are wary and if you have a number of rats then rat control using traps may not be the answer. Rat poison can be more effective but beware using rat poison in the home as there is a risk that rats will die and cause a very unpleasant smell.

Be very careful when setting this rat trap as the spring is very strong and you could damage yourself, rather than the rat! Please ensure this trap is never used outside, where it will be exposed to many non-target species such as hedgehogs/birds/cats etc. It should be used inside only, or under a good protective cover so no other animals can access it.
